As the year 2024 comes to a close, Changan Automobile has launched several major new models such as the UNI-Z, Fourth-Generation CS75PLUS, Deep Blue S05, Qiyuan E07, and Avita 07, especially receiving good reviews in the pure electric and extended-range markets. In 2025, the four major brands of Changan will continue to push forward, covering sedan/SUV, gasoline/plug-in hybrid, extended-range/pure electric markets.
Changan CS75PLUS Ultra
Currently, there are both third and fourth-generation versions of the CS75PLUS on sale, but the fourth-generation only offers two models with a 1.5T+8AT engine. The fourth-generation CS75PLUS Ultra is expected to be officially released by the end of this year and will be equipped with the new Blue Whale 2.0T engine for enhanced power performance.
From the official filings, the CS75PLUS Ultra maintains its signature boundary-less front grille and full-width tail lights, which are instantly recognizable. The interior will continue to feature the floating three-screen design. Additionally, as the high-performance sports version, the vehicle will use larger 20-inch wheels and a dual exhaust system.
Power-wise, the CS75PLUS Ultra will be powered by the JL486ZQ5 2.0T high-pressure direct injection engine, with a maximum output of 171kW and torque of 390Nm. This engine is used in models such as the CS95 and UNI-K and will be paired with the Aisin 8AT transmission, offering smooth and reliable performance.
In addition, it is expected that the fourth-generation CS75PLUS will offer a plug-in hybrid version in 2025 to compete with the BYD DM-i, Chery C-DM, Geely EM-i, and Great Wall Hi4 series. The specific powertrain details remain unknown but may be similar to the UNI-Z's new Blue Whale hybrid system or a new 1.5T hybrid engine.
Changan Qiyuan C798
On December 11, 2024, Changan Qiyuan brand launched its first mid-to-large SUV, the C798, designed by top global designer Klaus. This model significantly differs from the A07 (C-class sedan) and represents the future design direction of the brand.
As an electrified new energy vehicle, the C798 uses smooth, simple lines to shape the body, complemented by LED lighting strips, an active grille, floating roof, low-resistance wheels, and chrome lower body trim, giving it a futuristic look. The vehicle measures 4837mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1690mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2905mm, roughly the size of the BYD Tang. The car will be equipped with the latest Changan plug-in hybrid system, which includes a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with 72kW power, similar to the UNI-Z hybrid system. Additionally, a 1.5T engine version will be available with a 110kW maximum output, likely paired with an electric all-wheel-drive system. The car will also feature a laser radar system, possibly using Huawei's ADS 3.0 system for advanced driving assistance.
Changan Deep Blue S09
Following the success of the M9, Changan Deep Blue will release the flagship intelligent SUV, the Deep Blue S09, in 2025, with an estimated starting price of 350,000 CNY. The S09 will be equipped with a 2.0 turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, achieving a total power output of 362kW and a pure electric range of over 170km.
Avita 06
The first B-segment sedan from Avita, the Avita 06, is set to launch in the second quarter of 2025. The 06 will offer both pure electric and extended-range options and is expected to be priced around 250,000 CNY. The car will compete with models like the BYD Seal EV, Zeekr 007, and Zhiji L6, with Huawei's advanced driving system being a key selling point.
